NaNoWriMo 2010 - Day 30 ; Lessons Learned

Sa pagsali sa NaNoWriMo 2010, may mga natutunan din naman ako:

1. Never over-estimate week-ends and holidays. If you plan on writing 10k words on each of those days, chances are life will have other plans for you.

2. Even if you're using the Internet, such as Wordpress, to write your novel so you can write anywhere in the world, it is still a good practice to often click the "Save" button. The "automatic save" setting does not work. If it did, it will save your work only after you clicked Ctrl-A, then mistakenly clicked Ctrl-V (instead of Ctrl-C), replacing your 2,500-word chapter with a short paragraph on Ecology.

3. Your MLs are there to help you, not to intimidate you. Participate in the activities!

4. Write whatever that comes into you mind. Thus, it is best that a paper and pen is always handy, even if you only have a bus ticket and a Bensia pencil. Just don't write while you drive.

5. It is better to write than to play Solitaire. It is not true that if you win a game your crush also has a crush on you.

6. Scheduling is important. Never watch Harry Potter and My Amnesia Girl both on the same day.

7. Don't sweat the small stuff. There are things less important than NaNoWriMo. And one of them is 'work'.

8. Writing 50 words in 3 minutes is easy. Writing 50k words in 30 days is difficult.

9. It is okay to be down by 12k words. Just be sure you are still in the second week of the month.

10. You don't have to be perfect; you only have to enjoy.

Looking forward na ako sa susunod na taon! Sana, sumali rin kayo.
